For cars & vans our two most popular levels of Mechanical Break Down Insurance (MBI) are Gilt Cover & Gold Cover. A brief summary of the cover is described below and full policy details are available by clicking on the relevant links.

Gilt Cover :

Covers vehicles up to 5 years / 60,000 miles

Covers the majority of possible faults / failures

Covers repair bills up to a maximum limit of £2000

Renewable Free of Charge year on year *

Gold Cover :

Covers vehicles up to 8 years / 90,000 miles

Covers a comprehensive range of faults / failures

Covers repair bills up to a maximum limit of £1000

Renewable Free of Charge year on year*

These policies are only usually available for customers who purchase a used vehicle and choose a warranty at the same time. When I saw the quality of cover and the value for money it offered I realised that these products should be made available to all of my customers. I contacted the warranty company and after several months of negotiation they agreed to make the cover available to all of my customers regardless.

A good indication of how much confidence I have in these products is clear. I have personally taken out a Gilt Policy on my very own vehicle. As the owner of the garage I pay 'cost price' only for parts and technically dont have to pay for labour either, and I still opted for this warranty due to its sheer value for money. Prices quoted are based on our most popular policy ‘Gilt’ cover which is available for the majority standard vehicles aged up to 8 years old with less than 90,000 miles on the odometer. 4x4 ‘s and vehicles with engines above 2999cc. and certain performance vehicles will be eligible for cover on a different tariff. Vehicles over 8 years / 90,000 will be covered at similar rates but with a lower claim limit.
